The mother-daughters relationship between Ranee Ramaswamy and daughters, Aparna and Ashwini Ramaswamy, is central to the creative identity of Ragamala. Ranee, who immigrated to the United States as an adult; Aparna, who immigrated as a 5-year old child; and Ashwini, who was born in the United States, each bring a unique generational perspective to Ragamala’s creative identity.
